Terms Entered in Search
When you type a name, location, or other detail into a search tool, that request is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Stephens County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's privacy rules govern its receipt and use of the query.
Emails and Contact Messages
If you email us or use a contact form, we retain the message and contact details as needed to read and answer it. We do not share a message outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal process.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Normal web systems may record basic technical details when a page loads. These records help the site function, show broad usage patterns, and reveal errors. The details may include:
- the internet protocol address used for the visit;
- browser name and version;
- device class and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent on them;
- the referring page or site, when supplied; and
- the date and time of each request.
Cookie Controls
Cookies and similar browser storage may help measure how visitors use the site. You can block or remove cookies in your browser settings. Some tools, preferences, advertisements, or other site functions may then work differently.
Reasons We Use Data

Websites Beyond Our Control
Links may lead to Stephens County release records, sheriff and jail pages, Georgia corrections services, federal locators, government portals, or outside search tools. Once you follow a link, the destination's privacy notice and data practices apply. We do not control those practices.
Some advertising providers may use their own technology to measure activity across more than one website and tailor ads. Any such processing occurs through the provider's systems, not a database maintained by Stephens County Released Inmates.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be processed or disclosed to:
- search partners that receive submitted queries;
- analytics providers that measure site use;
- advertising networks that deliver and assess ads; and
- law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Reasonable Security Measures
We use ordinary administrative and technical practices intended to protect the information under our control. No website, network, storage system, or internet transmission can be promised as completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.
Adults Only
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor sent personal data may use the Contact Us page to request review and deletion.
Choices About Your Data
Subject to applicable law and our ability to verify a request, you may ask us to:
- provide a copy of personal data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate information;
- erase information that is eligible for deletion; or
- stop certain forms of processing.
These choices apply to data under our control. A government office, search partner, or linked provider must address requests about information it holds. Georgia public records remain governed by applicable law, including the Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. 50-18-70 through 50-18-74.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this Privacy Notice when practices, services, or legal requirements change. The updated wording and a new effective date will be posted on this page. Continued use after publication means the revised notice applies to later activity.
